Mode of gold occurrence and its balance were determined for Cu-Zn massive sulfide of the Semenov-2 hydrothermal field, Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The greatest amount of gold (~70 %) corresponds to free gold that is confirmed by findings of gold grains. The rest amount of gold is invisible and, probably, occurs as ultramicroscopic inclusions in sulfides and non-opaque minerals. Methods of gold extraction are suggested and speculative resources of gold are estimated.
