In the present work, the features of the morphology and internal structure of zonal-sectorial crystals with signs of a morphology change during growth from the Nyurbinskaya pipe were studied. The investigations carried out made it possible to establish a number of general regularities in the variation of properties between different zones of such crystals. The revealed heterogeneities of the internal structure reflect the different stages in the formation of such diamonds. It is shown that in the diamond population from a single deposit, the formation of cuboids can occur prior to the formation of octahedral crystals. Such processes can either directly precede the event with the eruption of kimberlites, as previously thought, and occur much earlier, remaining then in the lithosphere for a considerable period.
