Abstract - Summary 
(short description):
The Lovozero alkaline comprises regularly alternating subhorizontal layers of low-Ca foyaite-malignite-shonkinite (“lujavrite”) and melteigite-urtite. Within these strata, there are numerous layer-like xenolites of basalt and basaltic tuff that transform under influence of alkaline melt into anorthoclase-dominant metasomatites enriched in diopside, richterite, titanite and (mangano)eudialyte. Both apo-basalt metasomatite and host “lujavrite” contain rich impregnation of (mangano)eudialyte grains with relics of parakeldyshite (commonly) or dalyite (rarely), which permits us to connect rich eudialyte mineralization with alteration of primary water-free zirconosilicates by Ca-rich fluid originated from the basalt fenitization.
