Abstract - Summary
(short description):
Wide sulfate mineralization dissemination in Shulgan-Tash (Kapova) carbonate karst cave in the Southern Urals. Ten subaerial gypsum deposits areas on the walls and one zone of gypsum and barite spherocrystalline spherulites in clay sediments have been registered in the cave. We assume that sulphuric acid corrosion elements acted at a certain stage of the Shulgan-Tash cave formation when oxidation of sulphide minerals (ores) above the cave column.
Key words: sulfate mineralization, sulfuric acid speleogenesis, cave, Shulgan-Tash, Bashkortostan, the South Urals.
